Sleep this month was a little rough. Emerson seemed to wake up a few times a night, with some nights where she would do great and sleep until 5ish. She is still sleeping in our room and usually ends up in bed with us for some parts of the night if I fall asleep while feeding her.

I have begun to notice that she doesn't sleep as well when she stays in bed with us though! Naps throughout the day are usually less than an hour, 3-4 times.

She usually doesn't get up for the day until about 8 or 9 when I am at home because I will lay in bed with her and feed her if she wakes up which usually puts her right back to sleep!

Emerson eats every 2 hours pretty faithfully. Her appetite is growing as a 4oz bottle doesn't usually cut it anymore! She usually drinks about 5-6oz per bottle. She did start eating cereal this month. I cut a nipple on one of her bottles and feed her her cereal with that.

Mix it with some breast milk and she does great!! She drinks a bottle in the morning and before bedtime with cereal. We started putting her in her highchair at supper time so she can sit with us while we eat and she loves it! She loves to be where the action is!

I did take Emerson to the doctor this month because she had a nasty cold, low grade temp, and wheezes. I was supposed to work 3 days in a row that week so I took her in just to make sure she wasn't coming down with anything too serious! Doctor sent us home with some albuterol treatments which she hated at the doctors office but didn't do too bad for me at home!

She weighed 13lbs and and 24 inches long so she gained a pound and grew an inch in 1 month! She started rolling over a little more this month but still doesn't quite know how to roll back. She is definitely learning her voice and loves her bumbo and play mat.

She loves to chew on anything she can get her hands on! And the drooling....! I tried out my wrap again this month and walked with her in it to Dave's. She doesn't mind it as long as she's not in it for long periods of time and if she has enough action going on around her to distract her!

6 months:

Emerson started sleeping somewhat better this month but she still has some not so good nights here and there...and I really shouldn't complain because her "not so good nights" really are not so bad! She is a bugger sometimes for her naps however!

She fights her naps during the day more that she ever has. I usually end up giving her a bottle to help her go to sleep and that usually does the trick. She still sleeps either in her swing or in her bed. Either way she sleeps about the same. Her naps have become longer now usually between 1-2 hours and she usually only has 3 naps a day.

Sometimes she tries and tries to stay up to see her mommy when she gets home from work but it's just too much for her! ;)

Since she rolls more now, she moves all over in her bed throughout the night and usually ends up sleeping on her stomach or her side!

She's started learning how to hold her bottle on her own this month! I still have to fix it multiple times throughout her feeding but it does give this mommy a bit of a break! I did have to start supplementing with formula every once in a while this month as I don't quite make enough milk for our hungry, growing girly!

She still has cereal in the morning and at bedtime. I did try feeding it to her with a spoon a few times to get her used to spoons. It took a little bit but she's getting used to it!

At her 6 months doctors appointment Emerson weighed 14 lbs 2 oz and was 24 inches long. She is in the 13% for her weight, 2% for height, and 51% for head circumference!

Emerson loves to talk and squeal! She has really found her voice this month and I love it!! She continues to smile and giggle often which I love as well!!

We got her a bouncer this month but she doesn't know what to think of it yet! She's not quite big enough.

Her new thing is her toes...she loves to play with them!! It's an easy entertainer!! I can already tell she's going to have a bit of ADHD I believe. Or maybe she's just a normal baby! ;) She doesn't last very long with one thing before she has to move onto something else!

She also usually likes to be where she can see me, and loves to be in her bumbo up by the action! She got the hang of rolling this month as well!

She usually rolls from back to her tummy and then ends up getting upset because she doesn't like to be on her tummy for very long, but instead of rolling back to her back she just cries!

She had a couple episodes this month where she stranged. Both were men that she doesn't see very often, but she got over it pretty quickly! Otherwise she's maybe not quite as quick to give smiles to people she doesn't know, but she's not usually scared.
