Emerson : 10 months (and moving)

Emerson's 10 month pictures:

Her month started out with the purchase and move to our new house in Mahomet.  Moving day was on October 3rd.  We had lots of good help earlier in the week helping to clean the new house before move in day.  We also had LOTS of help from family and friends to help us pack, load up, unload, and unpack!  Thanks soo much to everyone who helped out!!
Kirk and I loaded up a few small loads and took them to mahomet a few days early, that way moving day wouldn't be quite so overwhelming!

I spy a little girl in between all the boxes!

Good-bye empty house!

Emerson stayed with us all day while moving and did great!  She loved to play in the boxes and had plenty of people to fuss over her and carry her around!

Sunday after our move, we had our first company over for a wiener roast!  We have a nice big water retention pond next to us that works perfect for ball games when it's dry or for sledding in the winter!

Our neighbor was having a garage sale the weekend we moved and was selling this turtle sand box so we bought it for emerson! Works great for her to play in even with out sand!

Other happenings this month:
Emerson got to go on a girls night out with me and some friends.  She loved to share my ice cream cone!

She figured out how to stand up in her high chair!  So much for not having to worry about strapping her in!

Then again, straps don't necessarily hold her back! ;)

Always finding something to get into!

More turtle time outside!  She loves to be outside!

She figured out how to open drawers and doors this month.  I usually just let her empty them out!
It keeps her happy when I am in the kitchen!

So thankful to be this little girlies mom!
We went shopping with grandma one day!

All bundled up!
She lovers her big bear!

Standing all by herself!
She likes to always be wherever I'm at!

Daddy time!

Jodi's kids came to spend part of a day with us.
Emerson loves to have company!

Learning how to walk behind her toy!

Grandma Leman came to our house and watched Emerson one day while I was at work.
and they came to visit me! Emerson wasn't so sure about the elevators and strangers talking to her
so she was a little weepy until she saw me! Made me feel good! ;)

She usually wakes up from her naps very happy and content, just talking to herself for a while!

Being her happy-go-lucky self!

Emerson {should} take 2 naps a day.  She seemed to get her schedule all messed up after our move and she wasn't sleeping very well for a few weeks.  Sometimes 1 nap a day and then to bed by 7. She had been sleeping through the night mostly, until our move when she started waking up 2-3 times per night.  For a while I would give her a bottle every time she cried but then I realized that I needed to stop, and just let her cry herself back to sleep.  Once I did that, she started sleeping through the night again after a few nights! Sundays are usually bad days as she wouldn't take a nap in the new sleeping rooms.  Thankfully after about a month, she finally was used to it enough that we could get her down for a short nap during church.

She continues to be a very busy, but happy and easy-going baby, which we LOVE!  She gives us lots of smiles and laughs almost anytime we try!

Emerson : 9 months

Emerson had an eventful month this month!

At her 9 month appointment she weighed 17.2 lbs (30%) and was 26in long (3%). She wears 6-9 month clothes mostly. She doesn't do very well with eating baby food, but she loves puffs!
She pulls herself up on everything and will stand by herself at times too! She has become a very busy baby and curious about everything.  We love to watch her learn and grow!

The month started out with the purchase of our first house!

She survived her first looong car ride to Gulf Shores, AL.

We rented a condo and met Kirk's Sister Karla & Jesse & Wren for the week.

Emy & Wren had fun playing together...or not so much!

We spent lots of time at the ocean and the pool at the condo.  The girls loved the water!

Trying dip n dots! She loved them!

We went to the Naval Base in Pensacola, FL one day. Emy experienced her first air show!

Spent an evening taking family pictures on the beach!

A few days after getting home from vacation, Emerson came down with Roseola, so we had a tough few nights. One night I ended up taking the couch cushions, and putting them on the floor beside her crib because she was getting up every 15 minutes. Thankfully it didn't last for too many nights!

We had our parents and grandparents over for supper one evening.  Emerson liked to chew on Grandpa's cane!

She learned how to look out her window from her crib.  And also how to mutilate the shade...bad enough that we had to buy a new one when we moved!

Continues to like bath time, we started putting her in the big bath tub this month!
We enjoyed a weekend at Lake Salleteeska with the Eisenmann family.

And she popped her first tooth this month!  But I don't have a good picture.  I hardly even knew she was teething!  She was slightly more fussy one day but not enough to really make me wonder but the next morning it had popped through! Hopefully the trend continues!
